Tony Duncheon Files to Run for County Council District 2

election-2018-1

Tony Ducheon made it official this week by filing paperwork with Daviess County Clerk’s office to seek the Republican nomination for Daviess County Council District 2. The primary is in May.

Ducheon stated, “I have been considering a run for office for a few years. I did not want to run against Councilwoman Jackie Graber, if she was going to run for re-election. I had respect for her father Jack Graber who served on the Council for many years. It was such a tribute for her to honor her father’s legacy by serving in his seat. I talked to her and when she decided not to run, I was in. I also appreciate her support of my campaign”

Duncheon’s early career was spent in the coal industry where for fifteen years he worked as an office manager, budget and financial analyst. The last twenty-two years he has spent in banking on the corner of Third and Main Street in Washington. “I believe my financial background as well as my honesty and integrity will help me preserve the conservative and financial stability of Daviess County,” said Duncheon. “I am committed to work with all stakeholders to make sound decisions about our future,” he continued.

He is a life long resident of Daviess County and his parents are the late Bernie and Anna Fern Duncheon. He and his wife Lisa have three sons, Nicholas, Christian and Ethan.

Tony has been very active in the community: Member, St. Peters Church in Montgomery, Daviess County Community Foundation and currently serves on the Grants Committee, Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, Montgomery Ruritan Club, SINE, Southwest Indiana Network for Education, Chamber of Commerce and past Board Member of St. Peter’s Holy Name Society.

Also in the race for the GOP is Kristin Miles of Washington.
