Cheryle Lynn Ritchey, 69, of Odon, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Ketcham Memorial Center, where she was a resident for 45 years.
She was born March 15, 1948 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Vincent Maurice and Anna Laura (Boling) Ritchey.
Cheryle was a member of the Odon United Methodist Church. She was the President of the Resident Council at Ketcham Memorial Center. She was an RSVP and hospice volunteer and the Older Hoosier Volunteer of the Year. Cheryle was a past Tiffany Queen and Valentine Queen at KMC. In 1989 she was the Old Settlers Parade Marshall and in 2002 she received Karen Bell Award. She was a lobbyist for SSI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Anna Laura Ritchey; nephews, Jason Ritchey and Doug Hunter; brother-in-law, Fred Schwenk.
Cheryle is survived by her siblings, Joan (Jerry) Shadle and Don (Mary) Ritchey, both of Loogootee, Joyce Schwenk of Washington and Ginny (Leroy) Shafer of Odon; step-brother, Bob (Lori) Kollmyer of Odon; uncle, Paul Ritchey of Kansas City, Missouri and aunt, Lois Andis of Odon; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Odon United Methodist Church, 605 E. Elnora Street, Odon, Indiana. Burial will be Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo, Indiana.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Odon United Methodist Church and Monday, January 22, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ketcham Memorial Center or the Odon United Methodist Church.
