Burley J. “B.J.” Haggard, 66, of Vincennes, passed away on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born September 30, 1951 in Vincennes, Indiana to Vernard Louis and Joan Helene (Miller) Haggard.

Burley joined the United States Army Reserves in 1969 and was honorably discharged in November 1979. Burley graduated from Lincoln High School, then attended Ivy Technical Institute. He was an employee of the State of Indiana Adjutant General Office worksite Vincennes National Guard Armory. While employed there, Burley received several awards. Burley loved volunteering with Civil Defense, Amateur Ham Radio, and Knox County Emergency Management Agency.

Burley was married to Judith Ann Fields Haggard on March 3, 1973 and she survives Burley. They have two sons, Matthew Keith Haggard of Nashville, Tennessee, and Adam Jay Haggard and his wife, Teresa Wirth Haggard of Vincennes; his grandchildren, Tyler Jay Haggard and his significant other, Annastaisia Crosby, Jacie Lynn Haggard, and Andrew Louis Haggard; his great grandchildren, Aiden Nathaniel Haggard and Owen Jay Haggard; a sister; Janice Haggard Reeves of Vincennes; his brothers, John Tyler Haggard and wife Susie LaBean Haggard, Jerry Louis Haggard and wife Janie Ready Haggard, and Jeffrey Verne Haggard and wife Kimberly Miller Haggard, all of Vincennes.

Preceding Burley in death were his parents; and a brother in law, Anthony, “Tony” Reeves.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday January 15, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shop with a Cop, 501 Busseron St. Vincennes, IN 47591
