Anne F. O’Neal, 96, of Loogootee, passed away on January 6, 2018.
Anne was born June 12, 1921 to James and Anastacia (Hopkins) O’Neal. She graduated from St. John High School in 1938 and earned her Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Indiana University.
After college, Anne followed sister Alma to New York and started her career as a nutritionist, then moving on to Chicago, before beginning her 36 year teaching career. She started in South Bend, and continued to Princeton before moving to Indianapolis Public Schools, where she concluded her career.
Anne was the last remaining sibling of James and Anastacia. Preceding her to the gates of Heaven along with her parents, were brothers Bernard and Joe, and sisters Mary Alice(Foster), Alma(Walker), Dorothy(Norris), and Marjorie (Reising). She is survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation at the church will be begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, January 13, 2018 until time of service at the St. John the Evangelist Church.
