Washington City Council Meets Tonight

The Washington City Council meets for the first time in 2018 tonight.

It will be the first meeting for newly named Democrat City Councilman Doug Campton.  Campton was elected by a party caucus to take the District 4 seat vacated by long-time Councilman Joe Fleck, who moved out of the District.  Mayor Wellman will give the oath of office to Campton and the City’s newest police officer, Jonathan Kane Waggoner.

The Council will also hold public hearings and consider two ordinances.  One ordinance would rezone land on Ogdon Street from Industrial to Residential and the other deals with the issuance of Waterworks Revenue Bonds.  The Council will also hear the introduction of an ordinance to amend the rental fees at Water World of Washington.  The Council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. this evening at the Washington City Council Chambers.
