Eugene P. Andis, 96, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:25 am Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at BridgePointe Health Campus.
He was born September 3, 1921 in Shoals, Indiana to Ira and Lessie (English) Andis.
Gene worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for many years, retiring in 1984 as Agency Manager. His memberships included the First Christian Church, Elks, Hadi Shrine in Evansville, American Legion, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Gene was an avid golfer and served as a corporal in the Air Force in World War II in the 71st Air Service Group.
Surviving are his daughter, Kathleen (John) Osborne of McCordsville, Indiana; brother and sisters, Sara Barnes, Ruth Mitchell, and Kenneth Andis; along with seven grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances (Shively) Andis; and four brothers and sisters, Viva Comrack, Odean Holcomb, Samuel Andis, and Richard Andis.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2017 at First Christian Church with Rev. Bill Pieper officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service at the church.
