Marijuana and the chemicals to make Purple Drank, a cough syrup that’s also used as a recreational drug were found when an Indianapolis man was stopped by State Police in Greene County Thursday. A state trooper stopped a car for speeding on I-69, and found Ryan Mahone, 24, of Indianapolis, was driving on a suspended license. Trooper Richard Klun smelled marijuana, and found some in the car, he said. He also found a locked safe. After Mahone was taken in, Klun got a search warrant for the safe and said he found forged prescriptions, the kind used to make “Purple Drank”.
