Karl W. Kelsey, 96 of Odon, IN, passed from this life on Monday, November 13, 2017, in Bloomington, IN, the last of 15 children.  He was born in Daviess County on January 16, 1921, to Thomas and Rebecca (Wilkey) Kelsey.  On June 6, 1948, Karl took G. Ann Crane to be his beautiful bride. She preceded in death on May 20, 1989.

Karl joined the US Army and served in the 26th Infantry Division.  His Tour of Duty during WW II included Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Upon his return to civilian life after the Army, Karl worked for 34 years at the Crane Naval Base in Ordinance and retired in 1978.  Karl was a member of the Odon First Christian Church and a 50-year member of the Odon Masonic Lodge #303 F&AM.  He was a quiet man who loved his family. Karl truly enjoyed farming and it gave him countless hours of enjoyment.  Leisure time for Karl was horseback riding or tinkering with old cars.

Survivors include: a son, Randy (Karen) Kelsey of Odon; a daughter Pam (Tim) Morgan of Bloomington; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Karl was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; 6 sisters and 8 brothers; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, with Kenny Hudson officiating.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November, 15th, and on Thursday, November 16th, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM.  A Masonic Service will be held on Wednesday evening,  November 15th, at 7:00 PM.
