The Washington Street Department is planning to replace three trucks and update equipment.  Street Commissioner Bryan Sergesketter told the council last night it’s important for his crews to have the best and most safe equipment possible.  He noted, that the during first day of leaf collection yesterday, the truck needed repairs three times and the chipper truck has been deemed unsafe and taken out of service.  The council approved a transfer of funds in the Street Department to replace the equipment.

The Council also approved sharing with the County, the cost of a feasibility study about building walking and bicycle paths along State Road 57 out to WalMart.

Prior to last night’s regular meeting, Don Williams was sworn in as the city’s new building Commissioner and Brandt Powden was introduced as Washington’s new Code Enforcement Officer.
