“Washington is a Patriotic Town”–Lt. General Anthony Jones

           A busy Veterans Day weekend got underway Friday afternoon with Washington native Lt. Gen. Anthony Jones talking to 1500 high school and junior high school students from Washington and Washington Catholic Schools during the annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Hatchet House. 

        Jones then traveled to the Daviess County Museum where he addressed capacity crowd containing veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq and Afghanistan.  Lt. Gen Jones rode in a command car from the Indiana Military Museum as rge Grand Marshall of Washington’s Veterans Day Parade.

      WAMW was able to catch up with the Lt. General, who had these comments about Washington’s Veterans Day Celebration.   

        

          Veterans Day Ceremonies continued Saturday at 11:00 at the Hill of Heroes at East Side Park and at the round-about at 12:30pm when the new flagpole and the Blue Star Memorial  were dedicated and former Gateway Drive  is now Lt. Gen. Anthony Jones Drive. Lt. Gen. Jones is the highest ranking military officer to be a native of Washington
