For the first time ever,  the two Indiana winners of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship are from the same school, Washington Catholic.  One male and one female winner from each state are chosen from the thousands who apply nationwide

The honor is given to student-athletes who display excellence and integrity both on and off the field and WC Seniors Hannah Ashby and Clayton Underhill receive a 1,000 dollar scholarship and await word next week if they’ve been selected as national finalists.

According to the Wendy’s website eligibility for the scholarship begins with maintaining a GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community.  They also must perform in at least one of the 47 school sponsored sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations.
