Marlin E. Kelso

Marlin E. Kelso, 84 years old of Alfordsville, Indiana, entered into eternal rest with Christ on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Loogootee Nursing Center.

Marlin was born on December 11, 1932 in Daviess County Indiana to Elma and Winona (Baker) Kelso. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Marie, on February 23, 1995. He married Donna (Tedrow) on August 18, 1995 and she survives.

Marlin is survived by his wife, Donna, his two sons Alan (Terina) Kelso of Florida and Brian (Barbara) Kelso, also of Florida; four grandchildren Aaron (Jill) Kelso, Renee (Shaun) Aunchman, Caleb (Tanja) Kelso and Josh (Cristen) Kelso and four great grandchildren, all of Florida. He is also survived by his stepsons David (Bonda) Tedrow of Indianapolis, Mark (Donna) Tedrow of Jasper and Barry (Lori) Tedrow of Alfordsville, along with six of grandchildren, Nathan (Naomi) Tedrow, Katelen Tedrow, Stephanie (Dan) Beavin, Wilson Alexander (Karissa) Tedrow, Jarrett Tedrow, and Logan Tedrow; one great granddaughter and one great granddaughter due to arrive in January.

Marlin served in the United States Army, worked as an insurance agent with Allstate, and enjoyed flying his private plane doing “touch and goes” on Saturday mornings. In his later years, Marlin worked in the Security Department as a Guard at the Naval Support Activity Crane. He was also the Manager of the Alfordsville Water Utilities and was on the Board of Trustees for the Southeast Daviess Fire Protection District. He served as a Trustee during a time of expansion and elevation of services of the District. Marlin was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and dedicated father. We will all miss his wonderful smile, sense of humor, and love for life.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the Alfordsville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home.
