VP visits Anderson, Indiana to talk tax reform and more

(NETWORK IN)  Joined by Governor Eric Holcomb and sveral Indiana lawmakers, Vice-President Mike Pence spoke at a campaign-style rally at the Flagship Enterprise’s East Center in Anderson.

The Vice-president was primarily here in his home state to push President Trump’s plan on tax reform, but Pence also touched on many other topics ranging from national security to the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

Pence says that Graham-Cassidy bill up for debate in Washington is the “perfect plan” to fix healthcare in the United States.

As for tax reform, Pence says the Trump Administration plans to cut taxes “across the board” for the American people in plan he expects to roll out as soon as next week. He calls the U.S. tax code “broken”, saying tax payers spend over six billion hours worrying about their taxes, and compliance with the code costs Americans billions of dollars.

Pence pointed to a tax cut plan that he rolled out while he was Governor of Indiana, which he says help the state grow and prosper economically. In pointing to that plan he says President Trump’s will be similar to the plan enacted in Indiana, and calling on Senator Joe Donnelly to help make this plan a reality.

Congressman Luke Messer is complimentary of the president’s tax reform plan:

“Hoosiers deserve a tax cut. President Trump’s tax cut plan will help grow the economy, create jobs and increase wages for hardworking Hoosiers,” Messer said. “Vice President Pence gets it. Hoosiers know how to use their money far better than the government, and it’s time we let folks keep more of their hard-earned paychecks.”

Finally, the Vice-President confirmed that President Trump will be in Indianapolis next Wednesday to push his tax reform plan.
