Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb will join Toyota Motor Manufacturing Inc. (TMMI) executives to celebrate the company’s 5-millionth production milestone today at 1:00 p.m. Central.

TMMI, which is the sole manufacturer of the Highlander, Sequoia and Sienna, produced more than 400,000 vehicles last year – the highest in its 20-year history. Back in January, Governor Holcomb joined TMMI as the company announced its fourth significant expansion in recent years with plans to invest $600 million to expand and modernize its manufacturing operations. The expansion, which is scheduled to begin in 2019, will increase its production of the Toyota Highlander by 40,000 vehicles annually and will create up to 400 new jobs by the end of 2019.    TMMI is a subsidiary of Japan-based Toyota Motor Company, which Governor Holcomb visited last week in Japan. The company employs more than 5,000 Hoosiers at its Gibson County facility and supports approximately 80 suppliers across Indiana.

After that visit, the Governor is scheduled to be in Jasper at 4 with Indiana Department of Transportation Commissioner Joe McGuinness, and state and local officials.  Holcomb will announce the Indiana towns, cities, and counties that will receive state matching funds for road construction projects through the 2017 Next Level Roads: Community Crossings Initiative.

Following that, Holcomb is scheduled to be the special guest at the Pike County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner to be help at IPL south of Petersburg.
