Lots of changes have been implemented to Lena Dunn Elementary School in Washington this school year.

One of the biggest is the addition of a pre-school.  The first day for those classes is September 5th, the day after Labor Day.

Lena Dunn is the first school in the state to receive a state grant from the Early Learning Program to fund a preschool program for the first four years.

Mary Padgett is the teacher and she says they will be taking a special approach to educating the youngsters..

Boys and girls 4 years old by August 1st are elgigible to attend. There is no cost to attend; transportation will need to be provided by the parents. There are two half-day sessions.  You can choose from morning or afternoon. The classes are Monday through Thursday.  Again the first day is September 5th.  For more information on registration contact Lena Dunn during school hours at 812-254-8366.
