Joseph Charles Lanham, 82, of Vincennes, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1935 in Knottsville, Kentucky to William Eugene and Mary Ursula (Knott) Lanham.

Retiring as a salesman for Ohio Valley Sound, Joe was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the American Legion. He served his country in the Army and enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, hunting, traveling, and being with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Edna Faye (Millay) Lanham; his children, Glenn Allen Lanham of Princeton, Stacy Ann (Brad) Sutton of Conyers, Ga, and Sonya Marie (Robin) Strickland of Smyrna, TN; a brother, William Eugene “Billy Gene” Lanham of Owensboro; a sister, Barbara Sue Morris of Knottsville, Ky; and five grandchildren, Morgan Lynne Osborne, Tadd Sutton, Brian Sutton, Sloan Strickland, and Jarred Strickland; and one great grandchild, Ethan Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Benjamin Francis “Frank” Lanham and William Sylvester “WS” Lanham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday August 17, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Fleck celebrant. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the Mass at the church at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.
