Main Street fire determined as suspicious

The Washington Fire Department is investigating a suspicious apartment fire.

Fire Chief Dave Rhoads reports, firefighters were called out at 10:07 Tuesday morning to 804 East Main and were on the scene for about 90 minutes.  The apartment was occupied by Samantha Burris and owned by Thad Rusk.  After initially putting out the fire, the department went back later for 15 minutes for a rekindle in the bedroom area.

There were no injuries and a damage estimate was not given.

Rhoads says they’ve determined the cause as suspicious and local investigators are working on finding out what happened.
