Special speakers address the Daviess County 4H show

    The activities at the Daviess County 4-H Show this week kicked off last night with a VIP Reception and tour for area officials and leaders.  The event included a double-dip on key-note speakers.

        The lead-off speaker was Greg Deason the Senior Vice-President & Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Purdue University’s Purdue Foundry.  Deason discussed the impact of the recent agreement between NSWC Crane, WestGate, and Purdue.  Deason said it expands the Purdue Foundry’s footprint into our region.  He said the collaboration will help create networks that connect the entrepreneurial community and help move the economic development needle in the area.

       Following Deason at the microphone was the Director of Indiana’s State Department of Agriculture, Ted McKinney.  McKinney told the crowd in the 4-H arena about  Indiana Agriculture’s 10-year Strategic Plan.  McKinney talked about the importance of rural infrastructure

        McKinney also praised 4H for helping develop the next generation of local and state leaders.

        Following the formal session, the area leaders toured the 4-H exhibits.
