(DLC Media) At 1:19-am Sunday morning, Police stopped a man walking from the area near Pines Apartments. The man, 27-year-old Drake Latham ran from police but was caught without incident a short distance away in a yard on Southwest 1st.
They found he had a syringe, plastic baggies and a digital scale. Latham also had a box of 9 millimeter ammunition. A further search of the area turned up a 9mm pistol in the yard he was arrested in. Records showed the gun had been stolen in June.
Latham had recently been released from prison on narcotics and firearms charges.
He is now charge with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, obliterating ID marks on a handgun, resisting law enforcement, and unlawful use and possession of a syringe.
