Nearly $446,000 has been recovered in connection with a Daviess County accident on I69 that happened nearly 2 years ago.

Attorney General Curtis Hill says his office recovered the $445,792.19 on behalf of the Indiana Department of Transportation.  The money is the total cost of damages stemming from the crash.

In November 2015, a semi carrying an excavator on its trailer was headed southbound on I-69 in Daviess County near Cornettsville when the excavator struck the overpass bridge at County Road 450 E. According to the accident report, the excavator was improperly loaded, and the impact caused structural damage to the bridge.

Hill’s office noted they were able to accomplish total recovery of damage costs without filing a lawsuit or entering into additional litigation.
