A popular hometown festival kicks off tomorrow just west of the Washington Radio Center Tower.
The town of Wheatland’s Wheatfest starts officially at 4:30 Friday afternoon with a chicken noodle dinner being held at the Wheatland Methodist Church. Concessions are available from 5 to 10 from the Lions Club and entertainment tomorrow night features the music of Rodney Watts from 7 to 10.
Saturday there’s a pancake and sausage breakfast at the Wheatland Methodist Church from 8 to 10. Sausage sandwiches are available from 7 to 10 at the Wheatland Park Shelter. Live entertainment throughout the day Saturday includes :”Just Friends” at 10 at the park Shelter That’s followed at noon by the “Mud Ugly Gypsies”. “Honey in the Rock” performs at 5 and “Hot Rod Lincoln” takes the stage at 5.
Also Saturday at 10, 2 and 4 there’ll be rides to the Historic Old Wheatland Bridge Road. Concessions are available throughout the day Saturday.
