Lorrie Newhouse gets Community Building Award

         Purdue Extension of Daviess County has announced that Lorrie Newhouse is being honored as a 2017 Community Builder in an award conferred by Evergreen Leadership. 15 leaders from across Indiana received the award based on their commitment to their communities, exemplary workplace leadership, and desire to collaborate with like-minded peers.

         Newhouse graduated from Leadership Daviess County in 2016. She currently serves as a member of the Purdue Extension Board of Directors, is a 4-H Club Leader and a member of the Purdue’s Vice Provost for Student Life Advisory Council. She is a division engineer for Grain Processing Corporation and was nominated for the Community Builders Award by Purdue Extension.

      As part of the award, Newhouse will attend Evergreen Leadership’s Connect & Create Retreat at Wooded Glen Conference Center. During the retreat, Newhouse and the other award winners will spend time connecting with one another and creating opportunities to build a better future.
