A  man was jailed over the weekend after pretending to be a DNR officer.

Authorities report that 44-year-old Kevin Byerly of Brazil was at Sullivan Lake and told four teens he was with the Game Warden Services. They say he accused the teens of smoking pot and other crimes and requested fishing licenses from the juveniles. A parent approached and Byerly said he was a Conservation Officer from Fairbanks Landing.  He had a handgun in his waistband.  A parent contacted the gatehouse at the lake when Byerly was allegedly seen following two teen girls into a restroom.  Law enforcement were called at Byerly was arrested without incident charged with  impersonating a conservation officer.
