Bond set in shooting death case

court-4

The Washington man accused in last week’s shooting death 67-year-old David Duncan was in court yesterday.

54-year-old Mark Jonathan Jones was arrested for voluntary manslaughter and murder in the incident. Duncan was shot in the chest and abdomen after the two men argued at Jones’ home.  Police say they learned Duncan went there to get some personal property after filing for divorce from his estranged wife of three years who was living at the Jones residence.

Formal charges have not yet been filed by the prosecutor’s office. Bond for Jones was set at a million dollars and Jones told the court he has hired an attorney.

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the shooting.
