Fatal crash Thursday morning…injury accident Thursday night.

    A woman died in a head on crash in Dubois County early Thursday morning.
State Police report the accident happened at 4:30-am on State Road 162, a mile south of State Road 64 between Jasper and Ferdinand.
18-year-old Katherine Wire of Dale was southbound when a vehicle in front started to slow down. She braked and her SUV pulled to the left and crossed the center line hitting a northbound car. The driver of the that car, 40-year-old Raven Waninger of Troy died at the scene. Her passenger and husband, 44-year-old David Waninger was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper in critical condition. Wire was taken to the hospital in Jasper, treated and released. The crash remains under investigation.


     A woman was not injured when her vehicle rolled twice in Dubois County last night.
At 8:40-pm, Dubois County Deputies responded to the accident on I64 at the 65.5 mile marker in the eastbound lane. 20-year-old Binaca McCandless drifted off the the left side of the road for an unknown reason. The 2004 Lexus went onto the rumble strip, she over corrected and went off the right side of the road and hit a dirt bank. The Lexus rolled at least twice coming to rest on it’s wheels. Ferdinand First Responders freed McCandless from the car and she was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for treatment. She was cited for driving while suspended and having no insurance.
