James F. Lannan, 74, of Loogootee, passed away at 1:04 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center.
He was born November 21, 1942 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late Joseph L. and Mary Leola (Melton) Lannan.
Jim was a United States Army National Guard Veteran and served his country from 1961-1967. He was a lifelong farmer with Lannan Farms and loved each day on the farm.
He was a member of the former St. Martin Catholic Church and currently a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was member of the St. Martin Men’s Club and the American Legion Post 120.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. and Mary Leola (Melton) Lannan; siblings, Catherine Gilley, Donald Lannan, Thomas Lannan, Daniel Lannan, Mary Arney, Rose Butler Arney and Carolyn Clements; sisters-in-law, D. Rose Lannan and Rita Lannan.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Cutshall) Lannan, of Loogootee; children, Darren and Tracy Lannan, both of Loogootee; siblings, Paul Lannan of Mentor, OH, Clifford Lannan, William (Barbara) Lannan, John (Mary Jo) Lannan, Robert (Feona) Lannan, all of Loogootee and Wilma (Bill) Sinnott of Springfield, IL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at St. Martin Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Condolences may be made online at www.blakefuneralhomes.com.
