At a recent meeting of the Washington City Council, council members approved a resolution whereby the city will apply to the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority for funds to repair owner occupied houses in the corporate limit. Applications to qualify for assistance will be taken on May 24th from 11 am to 4 pm at the council chambers at 200 Harned Avenue in Washington, and again on May 31, from 1 to 7 pm, also at the council chambers. Assistance is based on household size and income. In order to complete your application interested persons will need to bring a copy of their recorded deed, proof of property insurance, 2016 Federal tax returns, or 2017 statement from social security and/or SSI.
