Marilyn E. Scott, 87, of Plainville, IN went to her Heavenly Home on April 28, 2017 from Good Samaritan Hospital.

 

 

 

She was born on February 17, 1930 in Odon, IN to Bill and Ruth (Smith) Hart. She was a 1948 graduate from Epsom High School. On September 12, 1948, she married the love of her life, the late Ray Norman Scott. Marilyn was a homemaker, a member of the Epsom Homemakers Club, a member of the Wabash Cannon Ball Camping Club, a member of the Washington Boat Club, and loved camping and making quilts. She was also a member of the Epsom United Methodist Church.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Lorene “Renie” Scott of Washington, Patricia “Patty” Shorter (Steve) of Loogootee; grandson Brian White (Jennifer) of Linton; great granddaughter Emma White of Linton; great grandson Caleb White of Linton; sister Margaret Dailey (Ralph) of Worthington; brothers Ray Orris Hart (Martha), Fred Hart (Janet); brother in laws Everett Nolting and Harold Helderman. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray Scott; siblings Beulah Nolting, Donald Hart, Betty Birt, John T. Hart, and Zelma Helderman.

The funeral service for Marilyn will take place on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 11am at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Brother Richard Smith officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 4-8pm and on Monday prior to the service from 10-11am. Entombment will follow the service at Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
