Barbara Jean (Kiefner) Neff

Barbara Jean (Kiefner) Neff passed away Tuesday in Jasper at age 82.

 

 

 

 


She was born on December 11, 1934 to Vernon and Mabel (McCord) Kiefner. She was a beautiful and caring mother, friend and grandmother. She leaves behind her three children, Michael J. Neff of Washington, Nancy A. Roberts (Milton) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Cheryl J. Neff of Springfield, Illinois. Her five grandchildren were the joys of her life; Kasey Neff, Reid Neff, Madison Roberts, Alexa Neff and Morgan Roberts. Barbara is also survived by four nephews, two nieces and their children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James A. Neff, and eldest daughter, Sandra K. Neff; three sisters, Dorothy Kiefner, Gertrude Kidwell and Louise Franklin; two brothers, George Kiefner and Bud Kiefner. Barbara was an RN and spent her career as a surgical and school nurse. She was a graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and Barr Township High School (1952). Barbara spent many years supporting the American Red Cross in their blood drives and the Washington Country Club as a member and taught most of Washington how to play golf. She was an avid bowler, reader and loved to knit. Her creations bring fond memories to those who were blessed to receive them. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Free Methodist Church on Troy Road in Washington with Rev. Wayne Neely officiating. Entombment will be in the Sugarland Memory Garden Mausoleum.
