The Daviess County Democrats held a caucus this past Saturday an reorganized.
Ron Critchlow was elected new county chair. He was elected without opposition. Critchlow is well known in the community. Critchlow served as Democrat County Chair for a time in the mid 1970’s. He’s been secretary of the Central Committee since 2014. He is a retired newspaperman and was Press Secretary and District Office Manager for the last democrat to hold the 8th District Congressional Seat, the late Frank McCloskey. Critchlow served with home from 1983 to 1995.
Critchlow says he wants to build on the small momentum that has begun. Last year he says there were several good candidates on the ballot when in prior years there’ve been no democrats run for office in Daviess County with the exception of some city council members and candidates.
Also at Saturday’s caucus, Rachel Sellers, was re-elected as Vice Chairperson. New officers are Mike Potts as the Treasurer and Zachary Lacy as Secretary.
