Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon of Indiana’s 8th District

8th District Congressman Larry Bucshon’s first  Facebook Town Hall Meeting  yesterday was deemed a success by his office.    In the hour long session, Bucshon responded to questions sent to him before broadcast and responded to live comments and questions.  Much of the discussion centered on the this week’s Syrian air strikes. Bucshon said he supported the decision.

About 46,000 people engaged the Congressman in his first social media town hall.  He says he will continue to schedule in person town halls and meetings in various communities in the future.

Meanwhile, there’s been bipartisan support from Indiana’s congressional delegation for Thursday’s missile strikes in Syria. Democratic Congressman Andre Carson calls the strikes a “proportional and appropriate response” to Syria’s nerve-gas attack on the country’s own civilians, and joins Republican colleagues in calling the gas attack “an atrocity.” Republicans, as well as Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly, say the use of chemical weapons cannot be tolerated, and say the missile strikes deliver that message unmistakably.
