Charlotte Ray (Coomer) Tevebaugh Oxley

Charlotte Ray (Coomer) Tevebaugh Oxley, at the age of 87, received her call for eternal peace on Tuesday at 2:15 a.m. after battling a long illness.


She was brought into this world on March 31, 1929, by her parents Blanche and Russell Coomer. She loved her grandkids dearly and was known for her delicious coconut pies and strawberry delights.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Gay Lynn Stroud of Monroe City; brother, Bill Coomer of Oakland City; stepchildren, Gayle Oxley, David Oxley and Donita Bradley, both of Jockey; Helen Heidorn of Boonville, and Kevin Oxley of Elberfeld; 13 loving grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Marion, Ralph and Jay; her first husband of 20 years, Floyd “Bud” Tevebaugh; and her second husband of 47 years, Heman Oxley.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
