Jarit Arthur Keith, 77, of Washington, Indiana, passed away following a long illness on March 19, 2017 at the Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington, with his family by his side.

 

 

 

 

 

He was born on July 4, 1939 in Daviess County, Indiana to William and Ruth (Day) Keith of Washington. He married Carolyn Sue Chadd on December 31, 1957.

Jarit was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Plainville Masonic Lodge and the Parkview Christian Church. He attended Plainville High School and spent years farming before starting to move mobile homes in 1963 as Keith Mobile Home Transporting, where he worked until he became ill. He was a hardworking husband, father and grandfather that will be missed.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn Sue Keith; his children, Sandra (Rodger) Lents of Washington, IN, Pamela (Phil) Harman of Tallahassee, FL, Jarit Keith, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL and Mike (Michelle) Keith of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Jessica Lents Stiles of Washington, Jennifer (Shawn) Oxford of Washington, William (LeAnn) Harman of Wisconsin, Heather Harman of Maine, Mitchell and Matthew Keith of Washington; great-grandchildren, Sierra Stiles and Pearl Oxford, both of Washington and Piper Harman of Wisconsin; one brother, Darell (Sue) Keith of Washington and his beloved dog, Susie.

Jarit was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington with Rev. Alfred Helms officiating. Jarit will be laid to rest following military graveside rites by the Odon VFW Post #9627, Odon American Legion Post #293 and the Army Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM on Wednesday, March 22 at the Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon.
