Gerald D. “Scotty” Scott, 81, of Washington, IN, went to his Heavenly Home from Eastgate Manor on March 8, 2017.
He was born on October 28, 1935 in Washington, IN to Clinton J. and Lena M. (Boyd) Scott. He attended Glendale School for 3 years and graduated from Washington High School in 1954. On October 28, 1985 he married Phyllis Scott, who passed on January 26, 2012. He was a meat cutter for 20 years at Kroger, 25 years at JC Foods, and 13 years at IGA. Scotty was a member of Central Christian Church, Masonic Lodge Charity 30, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, Shriners, Washington Conservation Club, the Moose Lodge, former member of the Bass Club, Beagle Club, and Coon Club. Scotty enjoyed watching Little League Baseball and was a manager for several years. He enjoyed horses, Beagle Field Trails, hunting and fishing.
Scotty is survived by his children Artie Scott of Washington, IN, Bob Scott of Texas, step children Don Collison Jr. of Washington, Jim Collison of Washington, Joe Collison of Terre Haute, Vicki Bubalo of Washington, and Terri Scheele of Indianapolis, numerous grandchildren, great grand children, and siblings Narvin Scott and Rona Scott. He is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Scott, parents Clinton and Lena (Boyd) Scott, and grandparents Sanford and Carrie (Wick) Scott, and George and Donna (Hacket) Boyd.
The funeral service for Scotty will be on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 12pm at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501. Reverend Keith Meece will officiate. Friends may call prior to the service from 10am-12pm. Interment will follow the service at Sugarland Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to “One-Voice, One-Word” (The Promise).
