Alexander Matthew Leonhard, 22, of Bloomington, formerly of Loogootee, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017.
He was born September 25, 1994 in Brunswick, Maine to Jeff and Kelly (Sphon) Leonhard.
Alex received an Associate’s Degree in psychology from Vincennes University and was currently working on his Bachelor Degree at Indiana University.
He loved reading, video games, but most of all, he loved his puppy, Sheigh. He previously worked at Dairy Queen in Loogootee and was currently working at Papa John’s in Bloomington.
Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert and Alberta Sphon; paternal grandmother, Phyllis Leonhard; uncle, Rick Leonhard.
He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Kelly (Sphon) Leonhard of Loogootee; siblings, Tiffany Leonhard of Fishers, Stephen Leonhard of Jasper, and Kylie Leonhard of Bloomington; paternal grandfather, Richard Leonhard of Kinsman, Ohio; nephew, Albert DeHem; niece, Willow Leonhard; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 4:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.
Alex was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed more than can ever be expressed by mere words.
