Robert “Bob” E. Petty, 81, of Montgomery, went to his Heavenly Home on February 16, 2017 from Eastgate Manor of Washington while surrounded by family.
He was born on January 3, 1936 to Ernest and Ines (Chestnut) Petty in Plainville, IN. He was a 1955 graduate from Barr Reeve High School. On April 7, 1958, Bob married the love of his life Judy K. (Guy) Petty. Bob was in the Army Reserve. He worked at Hoosier Magnetics, DNR at Glendale Lakes, and farmed in Daviess County. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Church, and Charity Lodge 30. He enjoyed being with his family and camping.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy K. Petty; sons David W. Petty (Dana), Tim E. Petty (Jamie), Brian R. Petty (Lisa); grandchildren Amy Scott (Joey), Ashley Jenkins (Adam), Jeremy Petty, Brandt Petty (Kristen), Madison Petty, and Carley Jo Petty; 12 great grandchildren; and siblings Cecil Petty (Joyce), Carolyn Whitehouse (Frank), and Anna Lou Chapman (Terry). He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Herman Dale Petty, Alvin Ray Petty, and Walter Lester Petty.
The funeral service for Bob will take place on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11 am at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, IN 47501 with Pastor Tim Baxter officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 2-6 and prior to the service from 10-11am. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery.
