Odon Town Marshal Jason Miller has submitted his resignation.

According to a story in the Odon Journal, Miller gave the Odon Town Board his resignation Sunday.  Miller has been Town Marshal in the northern Daviess County community since May of last year.    During his time in office, the paper reports Miller has been commended for his success in obtaining grants for the department and his emphasis on training.

The Journal reports that Miller recently came under fire at a Odon Town Board meeting when Board members raised concerns about authorization of overtime and other expenditures in the Police Department.  Miller, who was not present at the meeting, wrote an open letter saying he had operated within the Departments approved budget.

Miller’s resignation, which becomes effective on February 18, leaves the Odon Police Department with one paid officer, interim chief, Scott Noble, and a volunteer reserve officer.
