Marcella “Sis” (Petty) Chamberlin died Monday, January 16, 2017

Marcella, or “Sis” as most everyone knew her, began her life’s journey on July 24, 1929, as the first and only child of Clarence and Esther (Harbstreit) Petty, on Harbstreit Hill in Daviess County.

She was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church, where she served as pianist and organist. She was a homemaker and throughout many years of her life held public positions at the Plainville school system, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and lastly at the Daviess County courthouse.
Sis had many interests, music being one of them. But her most passionate interest was to live and thrive on the Harbstreit Farms with her family members. She was known as the “keeper” of momentos of many family members who have preceded her in death.
Sis is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Emmick; her second husband, Vernon Chamberlin; and her parents.
She is survived by her stepson, Floyd Chamberlin; a grandson, Dustin Chamberlin; and several cousins in Washington, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Texas. Marcella was the oldest living family member on the farms and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home in Washington, with Bro. Evan Nave officiating. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. – See more at: http://obituaries.washtimesherald.com/story/marcella-sis-petty-chamberlin-1929-2017-866868442#sthash.f259cU6i.dpuf
