Ralph Smith, 72, of Washington, passed away Friday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 


He was born March 20, 1944, in Washington, to Russell L. and Mary Alice (Brown) Smith. He was a 1962 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Ralph worked alongside his father at Sellman and Mallet Corporation and recently retired from Ride Solution. He greatly enjoyed people and life in general.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Gilsinger) Smith; one daughter, Annette (Garth) Hosch of Arizona; two sons, Adam Smith and Aaron Smith, both of Arizona; one sister, Andrea (Geno) Underhill of Washington; and seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Clarke Smith, Alan Smith and Lowell Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Frank Renner as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
