Rev. Edward L. Bennett, 93, of Petersburg, Indiana, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg.

Rev. Bennett was a minister for over 60 years and retired in 1990 from the ministry.
He was currently a member of Rocky Ford Free Methodist Church (The Rock).
He was an Army Veteran of WWII severing with a field hospital unit that was involved in Battle of the Bulge.
He was born March 21, 1923, in Columbus, to Earl S. and Effie G. Wagner Bennett.
He married Carolyn M. Manning, June 29, 1946. She preceded him in death, May 9, 2016.
Survivors include his
children, Rex E. (Nancy) Bennett of Greenwood, E. Kyle (Michelle) Bennett of Jasper and Harleen Cutrell of Greenwood; grandchildren, Katelyn and Hannah Bennett, Claire (Michael) Sutherby, Ethan Bennett, Evan (Kelsey) Bennett, Shaun (Donna) Cutrell and Brandon Cutrell (Rob); great-grandchildren, Bennett and Nolan Cutrell and Eden Bennett; and his sister, Dorothy Renner of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rocky Ford Free Methodist Church (The Rock), 3990 Rocky Ford Rd., Columbus, IN 47203 with the Revs. Don Fausnaugh and Brian Buterbaugh officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and 9:30 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the church.
Additional visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Petersburg Free Methodist Church, 202 Walnut Street, Petersburg, Indiana 47567
Private burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.

He was preceded in death his parents; wife; and brothers, Harley and John Bennett; and a son-in-law, Theodore E. Cutrell.
