78 Grams of Marijuana found after a Martin County traffic stop

Indiana State Police released details of a Sunday night traffic stop that uncovered packaged marijuana ready for distribution.

A trooper was patrolling US 50 near Loogootee at around 8:30 Sunday night.  A vehicle was stopped for speeding and the officer noticed a smell of raw marijuana.   Trooper Andrew Beaver enlisted the help of Martin County Deputy Tyler Reed and his K9 unit.  78 grams of individually packed bags with 1 gram of marijuana were found in a large glass container.  There was also a large digital scale, a receipt book and a glass pipe used for smoking pot.

18-year-old Thor A. King of Batesville, Indiana was arrested for Level 6 Felony counts of dealing and possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.  He was also charged with Class D Misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.  He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Martin County Jail.
