An early morning pursuit of a Kentucky Police car on Thanksgiving ended in Dubois County.

At 3:35-am Thursday. Kentucky State Police told Indiana State Police at Jasper that there was a pursuit from Hancock County, Kentucky entering Indiana on US 231.  Kentucky authorities say that 35-year-old Jason Daniel Phillips of Owensboro had been placed under arrest and put in back seat of a police car.  They say he was able to manipulate the handcuffs and climbed through the prison cage into the front of the Chevy Impala Police Cruiser and fled.

At 3:46-am, Indiana State and Huntingburg Police deployed tire deflation devices on 231 near Airport Road south of Huntingburg.  Phillips ran over them in the police car and was arrested just after 4-am. He was taken to the Dubois County Jail charged with escape, auto theft, and felony and misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement.
