The Daviess County Museum, in conjunction with Leadership Daviesss County and the Washington YMCA, welcomes Clark Baker back to Washington today (Thurs).

Clark is in town  for a program on leadership and his life in philanthropy. This event begins at 5:30 PM and is only available to current members of the DCHS, the Washington YMCA, or Leadership Daviess County. To reserve your free ticket, call (812) 257-0301 or stop by the museum during normal hours.

Baker has spent 50 years with the YMCA, beginning here in Daviess County. During that time he has worked for organizations around the country and raised over $500 million for charitable causes while creating visionary programs and expanding facilities to benefit local communities. Throughout the program, Baker will relay stories from his vast experience as an organizational leader with practical inspiration for developing your own leadership skills. He will also discuss his background with the Washington YMCA and its progression over the years.

Clark Baker will be joined by his wife Carolyn Simpson Baker, a successful educator and author who taught for four years at Washington Catholic Elementary and later received a doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University. Clark and Carolyn have been married for 44 years and currently reside in Nashville, TN. Carolyn has recently completed a book “Work, Play, Pray Hard” about Clark’s life and vision in philanthropic leadership. The book will be available to purchase at the event with proceeds benefiting YMCA Camp Widjiwagan, in Nashville, and YMCA Camp Cullen, in Houston.
