I69 was key to M&C’s decision to locate in Daviess County

Washington Mayor Joe Wellman was among those present yesterday when it was announced M and C Tech’s plans to locate in Washington.
The Japanese company manufactures plastic parts for the automotive industry. They’ll locate on the east side of Washington at County Road 200-east. Construction on a 4.6 million dollar, 40,000 square foot factory on over 6 acres is set to start this month and take until next summer to build. It’s the first Japanese investment along the I69 corridor and the first ever in Daviess County.
Mayor Wellman went to Japan back in February to the company’s headquarters to personally invite their officials to locate here.


Wellman says I69 was obviously a key component in the company’s decision to locate in Daviess County.

 

 

The company will initially hire 25 associates, with plans to potentially increase that employment to at least 70 by 2021. The building is being designed and constructed by Force Construction,
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered M&C Tech Indiana up to $275,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $40,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.
