Taxpayers are urged to mail their payments early because some mail deposited late on November 10th may not be postmarked on the 10th. The mailed payment has to be postmarked on the 10th to avoid a late penalty.
Full or partial payments can be made anytime. You can pay in person at the Daviess County Treasurer’s Office. Treasurer Elaine Wellman says her office is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 4. They’ll also have hours on Saturday November 5th from 8 to noon. The office will be closed on November 8th for election day. Bring your tax statement when you pay in person.
