Washington’s new Solar Park will be officially dedicated on Thursday.

The Washington Power and Light Department buys its electricity from the Indiana Municipal Power Agency which has built a 4 mega watt 22 acre Solar Park at 2415 Cosby Road located just passed the Perdue Plant.  The property backs up against the city’s wastewater treatment plant and Perdue.

Mayor Joe Wellman says a ribbon cutting is slated at the park at 1:15 on Thursday afternoon..

The Mayor says over 100 school kids have been invited to learn more about solar energy as several officials and experts will be on hand explaining how the new facility works.
