Dorothy A. Souerdike, 88, of Loogootee, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at her home.
She was born April, 28, 1928 in Martin County, Indiana to the late Clyde and Madge (Morris) Swayze.
Dorothy loved her grandchildren and attending their activities. She also enjoyed playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lorenza Dennis Souerdike, her parents, her sisters; Libby Trambaugh and Merledean Henry and three brothers; Loren Swayze, Richard Swayze and Hubert Swayze.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Ellen Dant (Mike), and Wayne Souerdike (Terri), her grandchildren; Alicia Shoemaker, Josh Shoemaker, Spenser Souerdike, Colin Souerdike, two sisters; Hildred Harshaw (Waldo), Barbara Eichmiller (Paul) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at Blake Funeral Home on Monday September 19, 2016 at 10:00 with Rev. Mike Strawn officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday September 18, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
