Barr Reeve School Superintendent Travis Madison is hopeful there’ll be a decrease in the school tax levy.
The Washington Times Herald http://www.washtimesherald.com/ reports that Madison projects the rate could come in below 75 cents. He made the comments at last night’s budget hearing. He says that will be below the 79 cent rate from five years ago. The advertised tax rate will be $1.24 with an advertised budget of 8 million which Madison believes will actually be about 7.4 million.
The vote on adopting the budget is set for September 13th at Barr Reeve.
