Washington City Councilman Jason Petty resigned from his seat last night.
Petty made his announcement at the end of the city council meeting explaining it was time for a new chapter in his life and he’s moving to Bloomington. In his announcement, he said that the city’s leadership in the Mayor and Council are moving toward a bright future. In addition to serving on the council, Petty is active in several volunteer and community betterment activities in the community.
The Republican Precinct Chairmen will be be meeting soon to choose a successor to the council seat.
