The Indiana Department of Transportation, in a Facebook post, responded to concerns from residents of Daviess, Pike and Dubois Counties about the State Road 257 project currently underway.
In and update on the project, INDOT says currently they are looking at finishing the Veale Creek Bridge at the end of July or the beginning of August. The report says contractors ran into a couple small issues that pushed the timeline of this closure back.
INDOT says the good news is that while the bridge work has been extended, contractors have also been able to get some uninterrupted paving done, thanks to the closure. So while the bridge project is behind due to unforeseen circumstances, the pavement work actually has the potential to be ahead of schedule once the bridge opens up.
INDOT expressed appreciation for everyone’s patience during the project.
